About
I am a multidisciplinary artist/designer maker, writer and material explorer,
with a background in fashion and textiles.
Studio 0ty was created as a research vehicle and way to investigate
the big and small questions of mending the human/nature break, how made artifacts,
soft materials and site-specific experiments
can function as research tools, field study aids or habitat interventions.
This work generates data, offering ways to observe, record and engage in our immediate environment and non-human neighbours.
I have taught undergrad and post-grad in several institution over the past 10+ years including UAL where i am now.
I am a researcher in the field at CRAB studios

Why?/Manifesto for Studio 0ty
Alot of my working life has been in fashion and textiles, the intersectional issues (enviromental and social justice) surrounding the fashion industry and the making of materials are well documented,
During my MA i did a deep dive into the human behavior factors and systems driving ballooning consumption which needs to be tackled alongside materal waste and inequality.
But i kept circling back to the disconnect to our own enviroment and deeply broken relationships to the other species/ non-humans that we inhabit this planet with which keep us alive, fed, breathing and clothed.
That disconnect is a hyper-object and is driving most crisis faced today,
The UK is one of the most nature depleted countries in the world with declining biodiversity and a deepening disrespct or understanding of the environment and our place within it,
The loss of habitat and species is rapid – We cannot fight for what we don’t know or love so this work is an attempt to look outside my literal front door and document what still surrounds us at this point in time, and to offer material, poetic and practical ways to mediate relationships between humans and the more-than-human world.
Positioned between art, design, making, research and citizen science, Studio 0ty invites curiosity, attention, and entanglement, offering playful but serious interventions into how we observe, imagine, co-create, and reimagine other ways of being.
